Inertial Navigation Systems
Inertial navigation systems, IMUs and gyro sensors for UAV, land vehicle, marine and stabilised payload applications.
The range covers MEMS IMUs for short-endurance platforms through fibre-optic and ring-laser gyro systems for long-duration, high-accuracy navigation, plus GNSS/INS integrated units with RTK and dual-antenna heading.
How to choose an INS
- Gyro bias stability — the single number that sets position drift when GNSS is lost. 1 °/h MEMS and 0.01 °/h FOG are different products, not different trim levels.
- GNSS outage duration — specify how long the platform must navigate unaided, then size the gyro from that, not the other way round.
- Environment — vibration and temperature swing usually degrade field performance far more than the datasheet figure suggests.
- Interface — check whether you need RS-422, CAN or Ethernet and whether the unit outputs raw IMU data as well as a fused solution.
Tell us the platform, the required heading accuracy and the GNSS-denied duration and we will propose a matching grade.
